**Position Summary**:
Provides strategic advice, guidance and support to management, staff, the First Nations Health Council and the First Nations Health Directors Association. Support the Senior Advisor in the development, execution and maintenance of function specific strategies, programs, processes and procedures that align with overall organizational needs and goals. Proactively and routinely encounters complex issues (may include political and community issues) and demonstrates innovative thinking by researching, analyzing and preparing recommendations relating to the relevant functional area, and to the FNHC/FNHDA Shared Secretariat function overall.
**As a health and wellness organization, the First Nations Health Authority has aligned with the Provincial Public Health Order released on October 14, 2021. We have a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy for all employees at First Nations Health Authority. This policy requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. If selected for employment, you will be required to provide proof of vaccination by providing a copy of your BC Vaccination Card Passport with the QR code.**
**Responsibilities**:
- Provides advice and supports the Senior Advisor, Executive Director, and the Shared Secretariat in general to support projects pertaining to the FNHC and FNHDA.
- Provides in-depth analysis and recommendations to address strategic and operational issues related to the applicable portfolios; monitors and tracks the recommendations to ensure continuous transformation of services, programs, and initiatives.
- Provides options and recommendations to support change management efforts, including risk analysis and other pressing transition and transformation issues that arise, and work with the appropriate experts to coordinate opinions.
- Leads appropriate research initiatives and prepares briefing notes, briefings, reports, publications, strategies, presentations, etc.
- Participates in horizontal initiatives in collaboration with other FNHA staff and departments including but not limited to coordinating activities and information to support individuals, teams, and the PPCS department to carry out operational activities.
- Co-facilitates meetings, working groups, or committee meetings related to the portfolio and summarizing the results for tracking and follow up on the actions arising from the meeting discussions.
- Builds and maintains effective and respectful working relationships with all staff of the Shared Secretariat, members of the First Nations Health Council, members of the First Nations Health Directors Association Board of Directors, and the FNHA in general.

**Qualifications**:
**Education**
- University degree in public policy, political science, First Nations governance, or related discipline plus 4-6 years of relevant specialized experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
**Experience**
- Significant, relevant and recent experience in providing written advice, communication tools, briefings or published papers.
- Significant, relevant and recent experience in project management supporting projects and small teams.
- Experience in research, report and publications writing.
- Experience with public health and policy is an asset.
- Experience in maintaining effective and collaborative working relationships with First Nations communities, health associations, government(s) is an asset.
**Knowledge, Skills & Attributes**:
**Knowledge**
- Knowledge of the BC First Nations Health Governance Structure, Tripartite agreements and processes, including transition and transformation.
- Knowledge of project management processes, cycles, methods and approaches.
- Understanding of current health issues facing BC First Nation individuals.
- Knowledge of change management practices and principles.
**Competencies**
