**Job description** **Seeking**: Energetic customer service-oriented individuals for the position of **Telus Field Installations and Repair Technician**. We have several full-time opportunities for both sub-contractor and employee-based positions within our company performing fibre and copper installations and repairs in a customer-facing setting. As a sub-contractor, you provide your own vehicle, tools, gas etc.. For an employee-based position, the vehicle, tools, gas etc. are provided by the company. We are seeking enthusiastic and skilled Fiber Optic Installation & Repair Technicians to join our team in Kamloops and surrounding areas. As a technician, you will be responsible for delivering an exceptional customer experience while preforming your day-to-day task including the installation of Internet, Optik TV, Home Phone, and Smart Home Security & Automation. You will troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve service issues, educate customers on exciting bundles, and provide outstanding customer service. **Responsibilities**: - Reach out to customers prior to arrival, providing ETA. - Install and troubleshoot Internet, Optik TV, Home Phone, and Smart Home Security & Automation. - Install and diagnose cabling including, fibre, twisted pair, cat/5, coaxial. - Assess current customer services and find value additions through bundling. - Maintain accurate inventory of Telus supplied equipment. - Stay up to date with new products, equipment, pricing, and everchanging technologies. - Ensure reliability of all customer services using online test tools. - Deliver a "5 Star" customer experience on every visit. - Adhere to all applicable Health & Safety regulations. - Present yourself in a polite and professional manner to gain the respect and trust from every Telus customer. **Requirements**: - Minimum Grade 12 education. - Experience with low voltage cabling is an asset (twisted pair, coaxial, fiber optics). - Familiarity with everyday hand tools, ladders, cordless drills, and computer hardware/software. - Strong customer service background and sales abilities. - Ability to work independently and as a team member. - Valid Class 5 BC driver’s license. - Physically capable of carrying and maneuvering a 60lbs extension ladder, climbing ladders multiple times a day, and lifting heavy objects. - Positive, solutions-based attitude with excellent problem-solving skills. - Availability to work 1 weekend and 1 evening shift (available until 7 pm) per week. - Successful completion of a criminal background check. - Self-motivated and highly organized to manage workloads with mínimal direction. - Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal - Must be willing to work outdoors in changing weather conditions. - Must be technically inclined and have a desire to learn. - Means to provide or acquire steel toe boots, basic hand tools and cordless tools. - Prior experience in telecommunications and/or working in the field independently is an asset. **Pay and Benefits**:We offer a competitive piece-rate model, ensuring your hard work is rewarded.
