**Thales DIS** is looking for a **Benefits Specialist** to join our team in **Ottawa, Ontario**. The Benefits Specialist is responsible for supporting the coordination of all health, dental, disability, lifestyle benefits, well-being programs, and retirement programs in Canada.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Coordinates program delivery to ensure value, equity and efficiency. Makes recommendations for improvement. Acts as a shared service resource for all HR in Canada regarding benefits and retirement programs. Responds to all employee enquiries, and assists with claims issues as required.
- Manages employee data for benefit programs: ensures changes are made in all required systems, prompts employees to update information as required, audits carrier records to ensure coverage is correct. Maintains appropriate records in employee online files (Workday)
- Processes benefit-related invoices for North America as needed.
- In coordination with the HR Business Partner(s), and with administrative assistance by shared services, responsible for all disability management processes and policies (STD, LTD) and facilitates all related return to work programs.
- With support from external consulting agency, DCPP/RSP/TFSA pension plan administration: legislative requirements, reporting requirements, employee education, enrolment in the plan and retirements, Pension Committee Secretary.
**Minimum Requirements**:
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar position
- Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Experience with Workday preferred but not required
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines, and solve challenging problems in a fast-paced environment
- Enjoy working collaboratively in a team environment
- Self-directed and comfortable with accountability for meeting objectives
- Possess high level of confidentiality
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; and strong interpersonal skills
