**about the role**:
The Program Coordinator (Mentoring and Peer Leadership) works as a member of an interdisciplinary team and serves as a conduit between the programs at Sherbourne, coordinating SOY’s Mentoring and Peer Leadership programs, working collaboratively with Sherbourne’s other programs to ensure Sherbourne’s standards of quality, safety and risk management are met. The Program Coordinator initiates, develops, and maintains relationships with partner agencies to create dynamic, efficient, effective, and positive partnerships for the betterment of the clients accessing the services at Sherbourne as a whole.

**scope and mandate**:
Reporting to the Program Manager, this position is responsible for the coordination of Mentoring and Peer Leadership programs and connecting them to all the programs at Sherbourne. The role includes conducting needs assessments, scheduling, program planning and evaluation. The Program Coordinator will contribute to the recruitment, training and development of staff and volunteers supporting these programs. The Program Coordinator will maintain and foster relationships with partner agencies as well as make recommendations to the Manager for new partnerships. The Program Coordinator will ensure data is recorded accurately and assist with providing statistics for reporting to the funder and the budgeting process.

Under the guidance and leadership of the Program Manager, the Program Coordinator will evaluate the programs and provide recommendations for improvement. They will liaise with fund development and communications on events and external communications. They will ensure that all client and organizational information is always kept confidential.

**DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIES**

**As a Program Coordination**:

- Functions as a central communication source by being responsible, responsive, and accessible to team members
- Coordinates programs, including scheduling staff, creating, and coordinating health promotion and capacity building programming, and promoting the program
- Attends groups sessions as needed to provide on the ground support as well as to assess they are operating per protocols, safely and effectively
- Work closely with other team members to assist with programming when needed
- Evaluates and recommends modifications to systems and procedures to ensure efficient workflow in the programs
- Maintains and develops relevant standard operating procedures and reports as directed
- Contributes to the recruitment, selection, and ongoing development of program staff
- Participates and contributes to program meetings and program improvement activities
- Maintains up to date knowledge of services and agencies for client referrals, including
