Junior Housekeeping Supervisor

The Granite Club is looking for a Junior Housekeeping Supervisor, under the direction of the Housekeeping Manager, will help to oversee the coordination and supervision of all work activities of the Housekeeping operation. These areas include the Linen Room, Locker Rooms (Male and Female) and Housekeeping departments. The Junior Housekeeping Supervisor will ensure a high level of cleanliness is maintained in all areas of the Club. This position requires strong attention to detail and the ability to effectively deal with department heads, Members and guests, and other team members.

Primary Responsibilities
- Responsible for the overall cleanliness of Member and Staff areas and performing daily housekeeping tasks as assigned around the Club.
- Oversee the daily operations of the Member’s locker room, respond to any Member inquiries and ensure they are handled in a timely and efficient manner.
- Coordinate and assign housekeeping employees their daily duties when needed.
- Coordinate inspections to ensure standards are met.
- Oversee the duties, progress and methods of any contract work in the absence of the Housekeeping Manager/Shift Supervisor (window cleaning, waste removal, special cleaning, dry cleaning, linen contract, laundry chemicals, equipment repairs etc.).
- Report complaints or suggestions to the Shift Supervisor/Manager.
- Communicate with the Housekeeping Manager about goals, progress, and needs of all Housekeeping Staff.
- Reinforce Club policies and procedures among departmental employees.
- Maintain the highest level of Member service.
- Report maintenance issues to Maintenance/Engineering Department
- Administrative, special projects and other duties as assigned by the Housekeeping Manager.
- Assist other departments wherever necessary and maintain good working relations.

Required Qualifications
- Prior supervisory experience is an asset.
- Previous housekeeping experience required.
- Ability to set priorities and organize workload to ensure continuing productivity.
- Exemplary customer service skills and a demonstrated willingness to exceed member expectations.
- Strong organization skills, attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
- A positive and proactive attitude and a predisposition to creative problem solving.
- Strong conflict resolution and decision-making skills.
- Ability to read, write and understand English.
- Experience dealing with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Able to lead, guide, motivate and inspire direct reports to take pride and ownership in the Club’s facilities.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Flexibility to work day, afternoon and evening shifts.
