Our Calgary Head Office location is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to support our diverse operating companies. This is a full-time, in office position.
Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Accounting Manager will primarily be responsible for supporting the financial management and reporting for two (2) EFC companies (Executive Flight Centre Developments and Aviation Ground Fueling Technologies). The individual works closely with the Director of Finance and supports other EFC Group companies as required.
**Responsibilities**:
- Lead a high-performance team to meet and exceed customer satisfaction.
- Supervise, develop, and mentor team members.
- Full cycle accounting.
- Create, maintain, and submit sensitive invoices.
- Analyze expenses to ensure costs have been on-charged to customers as required.
- Prepare and review general ledger entries and reconciliations.
- Maintain and oversee general ledger management.
- Review and approve vendor set-up/changes.
- Payment run review and approval.
- Coordination of month end close procedure and schedule.
- Track key financial and operational metrics.
- Prepare construction project reports and reconcile to Project Coordinator reports.
- Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Complete monthly analysis of financial results, with comparisons to prior month, prior year and budget.
- Presentation of financial statements to Senior Management.
- Oversee the annual budget process, assisting Site Leaders with preparation of their budgets.
- Coordinate annual audit and tax engagements.
- Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.
- Maintain, enhance and design internal controls and processes.
- Maintain ERP system and assist in creation of automated reporting; assess all departments in terms of using the ERP effectively.
- Ensure adherence of corporate, departmental, and OH&S policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
**Experience and Qualifications**:
- Professional designated accountant (CPA: CA/CMA/CGA) or working towards a designation.
- Minimum 5 years work experience as an Accounting Manager, Supervisor or similar role.
- Advanced computer skills with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, accounting software and databases.
- Experience in the following areas will be considered assets:
- Property Management Company
- Construction Company
- Goods Reseller Company
- Microsoft Dynamics NAV or Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central software
- Jet Reports
- Proven ability to prepare and deliver presentations at the executive level.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate with team members at all levels of the organization.
- Proven ability to build strong relationships and function effectively in teams.
- Excellent time management, organizational, and prioritization skills, with a high attention to detail.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated and self-directed with a demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Ability to work with competing priorities and to strict deadlines.
- Able to work collaboratively as a productive member of the EFC Group Team.
