**Required Qualifications**:
One year related post secondary certificate required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
**Additional Required Qualifications**:
Completion of a course in medical terminology and fluency in use required. Unit Clerk diploma required. Experience with Connect Care required. Minimum typing speed of 45 wpm required. Proficiency in spelling, grammar, and punctuation required. Must have effective interpersonal and communication skills to interact with public, coworkers, physicians, and other hospital department employees. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills required. Excellent telephone skills required. Good command of English language and pleasant phone voice.
**Preferred Qualifications**:
Three (3) to four (4) years related experience in a patient care setting. Minimum of (2) years outpatient/ ambulatory care experience. Previous experience with a multi-line telephone and computerized booking/scheduling system. Ability to work independently with frequent interruptions and multiple competing patient inquiries.
