**About the Welder / Fitter Role**

The Welder/Fitter is responsible for performing job activities required to support production successes including fitting/adjusting parts, tacking, MIG welding steel, and visually inspecting parts to ensure specifications and standards are met for each project.

**Responsibilities**:

- Lays out, positions, secures parts, and fabricates material according to specifications, using straightedge, combination square, calipers, and ruler.
- Tack-welds or welds components and projects.
- Prepares and finishes workpiece using portable grinder or scraper.
- Welds components in all positions.
- Set up welding or other required equipment and follow Health and Safety protocols and procedures.
- Inspect parts to ensure standards and specifications are met.
- Perform precision layout tasks and precisely fit together their structural parts and components.
- Read/work to engineered drawings and welding symbols.
- Perform shop mathematical calculations when required.
- Follow all plant safety guidelines, practices, and procedures.
- Maintain and clean and safe work area.
- Properly use all personal protective equipment.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 5 years experience as a welder/fitter or similar role.
- Intermediate experience and knowledge of blueprint reading.
- Intermediate ability using welding tools.
- Knowledge of machine operation, cutting, sawing, drilling, and grinding parts is preferred.
- Experience with forklifts and overhead crane preferred.
- Ability to work within a team environment and communicate effectively with others.
- Ability to read and follow blueprints with a high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to repetitively lift 25-50 lbs.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $28.24-$31.47 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
