Construction Project Coordinator

We are seeking a Project Coordinator to join our growing construction team in Surrey, BC.

The Project Coordinator will report directly to the Project Management Team / Project Engineer and is responsible for aiding in the coordination, scheduling and delivery of industrial/commercial projects across British Columbia.

Liberty Steel Buildings Inc. is part of the Liberty Group of Companies and is seeking a project coordinator with drafting skills who is driven, energetic and organized to work in a fast-paced team environment.

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Perform coordination activities as directed by the Project Manager and Project Engineer
- Work with the Project Manager and Project Engineer to review project drawings, confirm project requirements and identify procedures to execute the project delivery
- Participate in project start-up meetings to communicate project milestones, deliverables, establish guidelines, communication methods and expectations
- Perform project administration activities including written preparation of purchase orders, work order contracts, RFI’s, contemplated change orders, change orders, project schedules, etc.
- Maintain and organize project documentation
- Communicate directly with the project team members, including owner’s representatives, site personnel, sub-trades, manufacturing partners, vendors, consultants, etc.
- Understand and maintain project cash flow schedules, cost reports and budget forecasts
- Engage sub-trades, manage on-site performance to adhere to project schedules, and perform regular field inspections for quality control
- Review steel parts and assembly shop drawings created by the project team for accuracy and provide comments, if necessary, for corrective action
- Review steel erection drawings created by project team including metal wall/roof cladding details for accuracy and provide comments, if necessary, for corrective action
- Review bills of material, shipping lists, vendor buyouts and other documentation required for manufacturing and delivery for accuracy and provide comments, if necessary, for corrective action
- Prepare holdback release requests & certificates of completion for subtrades
- Initiate project closeout and substantial completion with project summary for review with the management team for future improvements

QUALIFICATIONS:

- A working understanding of the construction process and documentation procedures from the proposal stage through to project closeout (specific to structural steel construction)
- An understanding of architectural building envelope details (specific to metal wall / metal roof cladding)
- Experience with AutoCad
- Experience or understanding of Tekla Structures
- Proficient with MS Office and MS Project
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Able to follow through on deadline-based projects/assignments
- Knowledge of steel building construction is an asset
- Knowledge of the steel manufacturing process is an asset

**Salary**: $57,961.00-$60,796.00 per year
