We are currently seeking a _**Inventory Specialist/Shipper Receiver **_to join our team.
Summary
The _**Inventory Specialist/Shipper Receiver **_is responsible for maintaining spare parts inventory (60%) along with, arranging all shipping and receiving activities (30%) and from time to time will be involved in purchasing supplies (10%). This role supports continuous improvement activities related to purchasing and maintaining inventory control. It is a clerical role working in a warehouse and requires a driven results-oriented individual who takes pride in their work in order to fulfill customer requests and corporate goals. This role reports directly to the Controller.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Ability to organize workload and establish priorities effectively.
- Enter purchase orders into computerized system for all departments ensuring they are processed accurately and in timely fashion.
- Create purchase requisitions and obtain approval prior to placing purchase orders.
- Resolve product, quantity, and price issues with suppliers upon receiving items.
- Buy spare parts and products as needed controlling the cost of waste and overstock issues.
- Follow up with suppliers as needed, on change orders.
- Receive and Ship physical stock items
- Prepare paperwork for shipping and receiving of items
- Track purchase orders and ensure timely delivery.
- Monitor progress of delivery schedules.
- Monitor stock levels and identify purchasing needs.
- Conduct market research to identify pricing trends.
- Support other departments for special projects when necessary
- Ensure cleanliness of warehouse at all times
- Organization of inventory is kept in an orderly fashion
- Ensure inventory is maintained in controlled area at all times
Education, Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum High School diploma
- Post-secondary education is an asset
- A minimum of 3 - 5 years of material sourcing or inventory control in the manufacturing or similar industry
- Demonstrate experience in negotiating, developing strong relationships
- Familiarity working with vendors of all sizes
- Bilingualism is preferred
- Must be able to drive forklift safely
- Must be results

- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, and ERP systems.
- Experience with AS400 (asset)
- Experience with overhead cranes, manufacturing or construction management (asset)
**Salary**: $37,462.23-$48,000.00 per year
