Learning Support Services Office Coordinator

**Location**: Learning Support Services Dept., 133 Greenbank Road

**Nature of Position**: Regular, Full-time (100%), 12 month work year

**Salary range**: ESP, Level 5 - $40,552 to $51,804 per annum

Under the direction of the System Principals of Learning Support Services and/or Manager of LSS, the Learning Support Services Coordinator provides administrative and clerical support for the Learning Support Services department; maintains and tracks student information using Special Education databases (IEP Online, Equipment Online, Aspen, etc.); provides information-training sessions to District personnel; maintains budget transactions, and records.

Completion of secondary school diploma and has 2-3 years of related work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge of relevant District policies and procedures; administrative and secretarial practices and procedures.

An understanding of educational issues, specifically in terms of special education. Familiarity with relevant legislation including Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.

Keyboarding skills and ability to record minutes of meetings.

Interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills to provide and exchange information, make presentations, and respond to inquiries/requests from District and Ministry personnel, parents/public.

Ability to use tact, diplomacy and discretion;
Initiative and judgement skills required to troubleshoot problems.

Organization and time management skills required to organize workload and manage priorities and multiple demands. Ability to work under pressure and within tight timelines.

Accounting skills to maintain budget transactions and records.

Ability to work with mínimal supervision.
