Reporting to the Director of Nursing Practice and CNE you will influence and advance Nursing Practice across the
organization. The Nursing Professional Practice Leader works within the Nursing Practice structure in collaboration
with the Interprofessional Education Team. Nursing Practice Leader develops, implements and evaluates the
strategic direction for nursing practice, resource planning and the delivery of patient care in collaboration with the
Director Nursing Practice and CNE, Service Directors and Managers. The Nursing Professional Practice Leader will
provide leadership and consultation to advance nursing practice by adopting and maintaining evidence based
practice that improves patient outcomes. The Nursing Professional Practice Leader will role model and embed
TBRHSC's patient and family centred care philosophy and values into all aspects of practice and research.
EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS
- Unencumbered registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Baccalaureate degree in Nursing with preference given to a Master's degree in nursing
- Actively involved in professional organizations associated with professional practice (RNAO, NLN or other
subspecialty groups)
- 10 years experience in nursing at increasing levels of responsibility and minimum 5 years clinical nursing
experience
- 3‑5 years education experience
- 3‑5 years leadership experience
- Demonstrated record of a strong ethical practice, leadership and motivational abilities
- Demonstrated ability to influence organization and professional directions with sound organizational awareness
- Demonstrated knowledge and skill in project management, process improvement, and evaluation
- Knowledge of adult learning principles and experience in developing, implementing and delivering education
programs
- Evidence of proficiency in interprofessional collaboration ‑ establishing effective interpersonal relationships,
partnerships, motivating others, consensus‑building, conflict resolution, consultation and coaching/mentoring style of
leadership
- Knowledge of current professional practice issues and care delivery systems
- Demonstrated proficiency in communication (verbal and written), group facilitation, problem‑solving, complex
analysis, change management and innovation
- Understanding and ability to monitor and track data, indicators and produce performance metric reports
- Demonstrated ability to foster clinical inquiry, educate on research process and develop capacity to conduct
research within nursing.
- Participate in research activities and pursue research study that improve patient outcomes
Salary Range: $53.285 to 62.690
