**About the Opportunity**:
As a key member of the health care team, the Unit Aide reports directly to the Health Services Manager. The key Responsibilities include: Ordering and maintaining supplies with the budget in mind. Stocking and cleaning clinic rooms. Cleaning equipment according to Infection Control guidelines. WHMIS and workplace safety standards. Ensuring all repairs, assisting with departmental renovations and moves. Act as team player and provide assistance to clinicians and patients and liaise with other support services such as biomed, maintenance, purchasing customer service, sales representatives, housekeeping, sterile processing department and infection control. Assist with patient and clinic flow. Other related duties, i.e. retrieval of films from x-ray, MRI, CT, blood work.
**About You**:
- Grade XII
- Current certification in WHIMIS
- Previous ward/unit aide or patient attendant experience preferred
- Prior experience ordering and stocking supplies an asset
- Basic knowledge of infection control
- Demonstrated understanding of the importance of cleanliness in a hospital
- Ability to establish good relationships
- Good judgement and demonstrated initiative
- Team player with effective communication skills
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
**Hours**:
- Casual relief
- Shifts will need include days, nights and weekends
**Compensation and Incentives**:
$18.66 - $20.19 Hourly
