Materials Supply Coordinator

**The Opportunity**: The Material Supply Coordinator is responsible for determining requirements and placing orders for materials and supplies needed in the operation of defined areas of the company with cost and quality factors optimized. They are also responsible for ensuring that ordered materials arrive as planned by following up with vendors. This position will source any items which may be required that do not fall within the scope of the strategic sourcing group.
**Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life**:
- Obtain and analyze quotations on non-standard items and continually audit prices of standard materials and supplies
- Coordinate with internal customers, requirements related to the quality, quantity, specification and delivery of materials
- Make recommendations to the supply management group and/or manufacturing, where savings in cost or better delivery can be realized
- Actively participate in expediting function to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Maintenance of accurate dynamic and static purchasing data related to assigned business unit
- Negotiate purchase agreements for non cost of goods items assuring acceptable quality with adequate deliveries at the best price
- Processing of purchase orders to external vendors for ingredients and packaging
- Responsible for maintaining outside warehouse inventories, working with warehouses to ship new orders there and or pull product into the plant
- Responsible for ordering all PPE and janitorial needs for the plant, working within the monthly forecasted budget
- Responsible for issuing non conformances to external vendors, following up claims and ensuring credits are received for items that do not meet the corporate standard
- Working with finance to dispose of approved write offs, set up destruction trailers / carriers to pick up approved write offs at the external warehouse and process invoices for these disposals
- Co-ordinate returns of products that are damaged, defective or do not meet the ML corporate quality guidelines
- Working with support groups to send product samples (packaging and/or ingredients) to vendors for equipment trails
- Working with purchasing corporate on new contracts required for packaging
- Being an active member on upcoming new launch meetings
- Responsible for weekly presentation of plant vitals addressing any challenges currently dealing with
- Team member to all departments, ready and willing to assist with hourly employees, screening visitors, courier shipments
**What You’ll Bring**:
- High School education with 2-4 years experience in material planning
- Strong analytical ability
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to interact with all levels of management
- Attention to detail with a strong customer service focus
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge and training on the BPCS platform (shipping, receiving, PO’s, etc.)
- Excellent time management, multi tasking, and communication skills.
