Major Responsibilities

Health and Safety
- Create, lead, and sustain a robust safety culture.
- Visit job sites to conduct safety audits on personnel, equipment, and materials.

Operations
- Drive operational excellence while ensuring compliance with all Health and Safety regulatory bodies and standards.
- Optimize the flow of deliveries in our largest market and surrounding stores, while adhering to the strictest of inventory controls
- Develop and implement strategies / initiatives to control or reduce operational costs.
- Optimize the utilization of assets including facilities, vehicles, and operations equipment.
- Manage logistics costs: striving to achieve lowest delivered cost of goods.
- Maintain and improve logistics metrics (KPI)
- Manage budgets, draft reports, and make written recommendations.
- Oversees all operational projects, as required.

Fleet
- Develop and implement strategies / initiatives to reduce vehicle downtime and costs.
- Institute Dispatch best practices to create synergy between all locations.
- Manage the life cycle and associated costs of vehicles and the maintenance service / maintenance records for all equipment.
- Oversee training and certifications and adherence to safety laws and standards.

Experience
- At least 5 years of relevant experience and/or training
- Prior experience managing operations and logistics, ideally related to the building materials industry.
- Previous supervisory experience in a lumberyard or other building supply operation is desirable
