**NCSA is expanding our pre-competitive program, Nose Creek Shark School and looking for a mentor coach to oversee our part-time coaches for the upcoming 2025-2026 season and beyond. This position has a start date September 1, 2025.**
**Position: Part Time with the possibility to become full time Mentor Coach**

**About the Club**
The Nose Creek Swim Association (NCSA) is a year round swim club located in Calgary and Airdrie, Alberta. The Club is composed of approximately 160 competitive swimmers and about 200 non-competitive swimmers (NCSS). We run two twin programs, one based out of Airdrie and the other based out of Calgary and are looking to grow our NCSS program substantially.
We are looking for a mentor coach that is willing to learn and participate to further develop NCSA’s swimming future. Our Club is Coach driven and Executive supported.
**Roles and Responsibilities**
As a Mentor Coach with NCSA, you will play a critical leadership role in shaping both athlete and coach development. This position requires a strong background in competitive swimming, excellent communication skills, and a passion for mentorship and long-term program alignment.
**Program & Technical Oversight**
- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge and experience in the technical and training aspects of competitive swimming.
- Ensure all coaches are aligned with and consistently implement NCSS’s Yearly Training Plan (YTP).
- Monitor and support coaches in completing swimmer assessments and tracking athlete progress.
**Coach Development & Mentorship**
- Be a consistent, visible presence at practices and key events.
- Actively mentor NCSS coaches, offering feedback, support, and opportunities for growth.
- Promote and model a positive, inclusive, and athlete-centered coaching philosophy.
**Leadership & Communication**
- Exhibit strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire and unite staff.
- Act as a key liaison between coaches, the team manager, and parents to ensure clear and proactive communication.
- Contribute to a positive and professional team culture, grounded in NCSA’s values and commitment to long-term athlete development.
**Policy & Organizational Compliance**
- Adhere to all policies and ensure coaching compliance with the standards of:
- NCSA (National Club Swimming Association)
- Swim Alberta
- Swimming Canada
- Training and competition facilities used by NCSA
**Continual Education & Certification**
- Show a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
- Work toward achieving NCCP Fundamentals Coach (Swim 101) certification or higher.
**Qualifications**:
- NCCP Fundamentals Swim 101 Certified
- Possess good knowledge in all technical aspects of competitive swimming.
- Good technical, organizational, leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
