The Student Success Centre provides an array of programs/services to students in areas of transition and academic success support (orientation, study and writing skills support), leadership/experiential opportunities (volunteerism, career field experience), careers and employment and financial literacy education and support services through Mac’s Money Centre. The mission of the Centre states: “We engage students and alumni in diverse learning opportunities to support their academic, personal and professional growth.”
Students continue to rank finances as a primary source of stress over final exams, time management and preparing for a career after graduation regardless of gender and diversity group. The goal of Mac’s Money Centre (MMC) is to empower students to feel good about money and support them in their money journey. MMC provides access to financial literacy education and resources to support their money decisions and prepare students for life long financial wellness and financial commitments after graduation. Financial literacy is defined as having the knowledge and skills to make informed money decisions and the behaviors and habits that are needed to achieve this. The National Financial Literacy Strategy (National Strategy) 2021-2026 is a 5 year plan to create a more accessible, inclusive and financial ecosystem that supports the diverse needs of our population. MMC is an important part of that ecosystem recognizing the needs of post-secondary students.

**Job Summary**:
Support the development and delivery of a financial literacy education and support strategy specific to the needs of students. Utilize a diverse range of experiential learning initiatives to promote engagement, resilience and knowledge and skill development. Build strategic alliances and collaborations with faculty, staff, student groups and student governments to create a culture of financial literacy to support student success. This role will be responsible for the coordination of a program and provision of services to students.

**Purpose and Key Functions**:

- Support the development of a comprehensive financial literacy program that addresses the situational financial needs and priorities of both undergraduate and graduate students throughout their academic journey and beyond graduation.
- Deliver programs, services, events and initiatives that are based on clearly articulated learning outcomes.
- Direct effective marketing and promotion of the program to target students in need of services.
- Support the design and facilitation of workshops, presentations and special events based on research, sound methodology and an understanding of student experiences and needs.
- Initiate collaborations and partnerships using a multi-departmental team and faculty approach to support an integrated approach to providing services and promoting a shared responsibility for achieving financial wellness.
- Conduct proper needs assessment to assess areas of student needs and wants in areas of financial literacy and diversity needs.
- Develop and write of instructional material for on-line and in person presentations.
- Support the design and implementation of evaluation strategies such as surveys, focus groups, and rubrics to measure program outcomes and effectiveness.
- Support the development of an effective and efficient program delivery strategy using student based models, workshops, social media strategy, community resources and online resources to optimize resources and service capacity.
- Lead the coordination of a program including the recruitment and training of student volunteers, scheduling of community clinics with community partners, supervision of volunteers and manage community partnerships.
- Analyze and interpret data for purposes of evaluating results, communicating with partners and stakeholders, and informing future planning.
- Research best practices in the areas of financial literacy education and peer based leadership models to support post-secondary students.
- Refer students to appropriate resources, information and services across the University.
- Assist in the development of relevant, accurate and quality resource information for the website and social media networks for education and engagement purposes.
- Deal sensitively, responsibly and calmly with students who present with serious medical, social, and psychological issues, and refer to appropriate care.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with campus partners and build partnerships with various stakeholders across the University, across our partner institutions and the greater community.
- Update, maintain and verify database information for program participation for the purpose of program reporting and impact of services.
