Thales people architect solutions that support 85 million mainline and suburban passenger journeys, worldwide, every day. Our Rail Signalling and Communication systems are used on metro lines across major cities, and 72,000 kms of route, 52,000 trains per day in 16 countries are controlled by our Traffic Management Systems. Together We deployed the first-ever nationwide ticketing system which processes over 50 million ticketing transactions in 100 cities daily.

**Key Accountabilities**:
- Responsible for managing the entire Solutions Deployment and Services (SDS) scope on a given Project. Responsible for all the technical aspects of the Project that are deployment related, as well as planning, budgeting and scheduling issues related to Deployment. As such, the DPM works closely with the PM and SEM to plan and deliver the Project scope.
- Organize the logic of SDS work with the SDS Team Leaders, the SMO, and the Project team.
- Reconciles bottom-up SDS planning inputs from Team Leaders to top-down planning requirements from Project Manager.
- Defines the project work with the Team Leaders including setting of priorities for review of work by others.
- Responsible for good working relationships and team building for SDS and non SDS team members participating in the project.
- Tracks and interfaces with the PPM/APM to expedite the overall acquisition process and expedites when necessary to reduce risk.
- Plans and conducts Deployment Reviews with internal teams and with the customer.
- Ensures that the cost and schedule aspects of SDS trade-off analyses are conducted properly.
- Approves the site test and acceptance activities created by IVQ, if required due to the absence of a T&C Manager.
- Works with the Bid Team to create the Deployment Management Plan.
- Identifies SDS project risks and manages the resolution of SDS project risks.
- Provides regular DPM reports to Senior Management.
- To ensure the Infrastructure design path taken by the Infrastructure Engineers is contract compliant, supports the project budgets, schedules, and is compatible with the migration strategy outlined in the Deployment Management Plan.
- Early identification and resolution of SDS risks to avoid cost and schedule impacts
- To ensure interdepartmental discussions are integrated to ensure a constant and accurate flow of information
- Define Project SDS work scope
- To create an integrated team atmosphere between the internal and external SDS disciplines participating on the project while ensuring compliance to Chorus processes and procedures.
**Key Requirements**:
- University graduate (Bachelors Degree is minimum) with an engineering or science background, Masters Degree preferred.
- 10+ years working experience in Design and Deployment of a CBTC project or Urban Rail solution, specific Thales product experience is preferred.
- Logical approach to problem solving.
- Persuasive powers & able to remain calm under crisis.
- Ability to motivate and deliver results.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proven Project management skills
- Excellent knowledge of current and legacy desktop publishing software (e.g. MS Suite, Visio, DOORS, Adobe Acrobat, Requirement Management tools such as DOORS or equivalent, JIRA)
- Sufficient knowledge of International Relations and requirements that follow
- Proficient in use of SAP
- Excellent Language and Communication skills
- P&L Management
- Adept at People Management/leadership
- Sufficient knowledge in Negotiation
- Possesses strong Bid Management skills
- Technical knowledge and skills required, e.g. system engineering; Safety HW/SW design etc.
- **This position requires significant travelling **to the project site ranging between 50 to 75% of the time. Depending on project assigned, some tailoring and flexibility of individual’s schedule will be required to ensure collaboration with peers in Toronto and peers/customers across the world can occur successfully.
Language of work: English;
Annual compensation: $112,008 -$125,000.
Additional Compensation: Bonus, pension, vacation & medical/dental coverage
