**YOUR ROLE**
- Takes a holistic approach to providing an array of services that are customized to each individual’s unique needs, method of communication, and goals to increase their independence and enrich their life;
- Advocates on behalf of individuals and their unique needs and goals;
- Demonstrates professionalism with colleagues, family members/ guardians, and in the community;
- As a communication partner, use as many methods of communication needed to facilitate the exchange of information (ASL, SEE, LSQ, etc.);
- Follows all medical treatment and procedures outlined by health care professionals and completes required documentation;
- Embodies the philosophy of ‘do with not for’; assists people supported in realizing their potential;
- Prepares and/or assists with meal preparation and healthy food choices according to specific dietary requirements;
- Implements behavioural strategies outlined by behavioural professionals, including tracking and reporting;
- Provides personal care as required (e.g. lifts and transfers, toileting, personal hygiene, etc.);
- Assists people supported with managing personal finances, budgeting, and maintaining up-to-date financial records;
- Believes in the organization’s mission, vision, values, and strategic direction and provides the highest quality of service.

**REQUIREMENTS**
- Minimum 1-year post-secondary education in social services or related field.
- **American Sign Language 101 at minimum (201 preferred or equivalent).**:

- One to three years of related working experience in the field of developmental services is preferred.
- Familiarity with Deaf Culture is preferred.
- Knowledge of job search techniques, resume development, and interviewing.
- Capacity to remain resilient during stressful situations.
- Ability to continuously take on challenges, update skills and remain open to learning new approaches with people supported.
- **Driver's license is required.**:

- Computer proficiency and willingness to learn other software programs as required.
