**Overview of the Role**:
The Bookkeeper is a highly motivated individual who provides financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data; handles all facets of day-to-day accounting functions. The Bookkeeper will work closely with the General Manager and Controller to ensure the smooth financial operation of the organization.
**The Bookkeeper's Duties Include**:
- Accounts Receivable (from the creation of invoices to payments from customers, reconciliation of sub-ledger, reconciliation with customer account statements, and follow-up on overdue accounts).
Accounts Payable (from issuing purchase orders to processing AP invoices and issuing bi-weekly cheque runs).
- Reconciliation of AP sub-ledger, reconciliation with vendor account statements.
Processing bi-weekly payroll.
Handling all government taxes including Payroll, HST, EHT, WSIB, and Corp taxes
- Bank reconciliation and cash flow management.
Investigating project variances.
- Ensures that project billings are issued to customers and payments are collected.
- Tracking and reporting on Profit & Loss.
- Preparing payments by verifying documentation, and requesting disbursements.
Stays current on all Federal, Provincial, and local financial legal requirements, and complies with the requirements.
**Qualifications**
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Post Secondary Institution or Post Secondary education in the accounting field
Professional Experience: Minimum 2 years of full-cycle Canadian bookkeeping experience. Proficient in both QuickBooks Desktop Premier
