This is an opportunity to join the technical services team within Wesco’s safety business. The goal of this team is to ensure that our customers use equipment that is ready and certified to protect them on the job site and ensure that they return home safely to the families at the end of every working day. This person ensures service and repair department is properly equipped to perform daily requirements in an efficient manger. Performs trial run of equipment to ensure performance rates and quality meet established specifications and is in ready use condition. Expedites and follows up with customers relating to service/repair orders. This person will be trained to service and repair many different types of protective and life saving safety equipment. May travel to customer locations. - Follows service and repair procedures log. - Ensures items are tagged and calibrated and in ready to use condition for rental equipment. - Enters rental and repair orders in wholesale distribution system. - Expedites orders and follows up with customers relating to service orders. - Conducts in-house or on-site DOP testing. - Conducts respiratory fit testing service either in-house or at customer’s site. - Conducts HazSafeID inspections. - Updates customers and sales reps with equipment rental and repair status. - Prepares for, attends, and participates in branch and departmental meetings. - Remains current on industry trends, market activity, competitor products and technical bulletins provided by suppliers. - Performs daily safety inspections of equipment and service vehicles. - Provides backup to customer service and warehouse staff. **Experience**: - 1 year required, 2 years preferred of service and repair experience. - 1 year required, 2 years preferred of customer service experience. **Education**: - High School Degree or Equivalent required - WHMIS, TDG Forklift preferred **Skills**: - Strong problem-solving skills - Excellent communication and time management skills - Experience using hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, or other handling equipment devices - Mechanically inclined - TDG certified, based on possible movement of asbestos containing materials - WHMIS certified - based on local chemicals and products **Working Environment**: - **Driver** - Work is generally performed in moving vehicle. Driving required for an extended period of time with frequent stops and starts. Can be exposed to outdoor weather conditions. - **Warehouse**: - Work is generally performed in a warehouse environment. The noise level is moderately quiet. Generally well ventilated and well lighted. Warehouse employees may be exposed to all kinds of weather and may be required to wear protective clothing. Operates heavy equipment. Strict safety regulations may be required. **Physical Requirements**: - Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require standing and walking for up to 10% of the time. - Work is physically strenuous and workers are required to lift heavy packages up to 50 pounds. - Work may require excessive bending or stooping. - Employee required to sit and drive a vehicle to perform their job. - Employee required to climb ladders. - Employee required to use hand tools. - Employee uses heavy machinery (e.g., forklift, etc.). **Mental Requirements**: - Employee required to calibrate precise measurements. - Employee required to problem-solve. - Employee required to communicate with the public. - WESCO International, Inc., including its subsidiaries and affiliates ("WESCO"), is an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employer.
