Playing a key role in the monitoring and stimulation of exploration, you will lead and deliver the mineral exploration and development program, guiding components through the regulatory process. The Mineral Exploration and Development Section supports the exploration and development of mineral resources within the regulatory framework of the Mining Act. Staff assist industry with their early exploration, advanced exploration or new mine development projects by providing information and advice on permitting requirements, financial assurance, as well as regulating early exploration and facilitating consultation with the public and Indigenous communities. Refer to the "How to apply" section if you require a disability-related accommodation. **What can I expect to do in this role?**: You will: - provide information, advice and assistance to industry, government agencies, indigenous communities and the public regarding all phases of the mining sequence - promote the development of new and existing mining ventures - prepare briefing materials, reports and responses on matters associated with mineral production, development and processing - conduct technical research and assist in the evaluation of proposals to enhance mineral development services - develop effective working relationships with industry, First Nations, other municipal, provincial and federal government partners and the public - participate on committees and attend meetings with mine operators, consultants, industry and mining contractors Note: This position may require overnight travel to remote locations not accessible by public transportation. **How do I qualify?**: **Mandatory**: - For the bilingual position, you must possess oral French language skills at the advanced level.
