This position is for our Extendicare Medex**Home, located in Ottawa, Ontario**.**

**Available opportunities include 2 Full-Time 60-hour biweekly, n**ewly created positions - 4 days to work as a cook plus 4 days to do Quality Management.**

Available shifts will vary between 6am-2pm and/or 9am-5pm and/or 10am-6pm.

**What you’ll be doing**
- Reviews regular and therapeutic menus and sets up equipment and supplies for food preparation.
- Prepares food and nourishments in accordance with prescribed diets.
- Maintains all required records and monitors quality and quantity of food.
- Directs Dietary Aides in basic food preparation procedures and in serving activities at mealtimes.
- Assumes responsibility for routine departmental operations in the absence of the Dietary Manager.

**What you bring**
- Chef training or culinary management certificate or diploma from a program that meets the requirements of the OLTCH Act, or
- Certificate of qualification as a Cook issued by an authority meeting the requirements of the OLTCH Act, or
- Post-secondary diploma in food and nutrition management or a post-secondary degree in food and nutrition
- “Red Seal” certification preferred
- Current Food Handler's Certificate
