We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented buyer to join our team. This role will be responsible for purchasing goods from our growers for our company.

**Hours**:

- from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm
- This position requires the availablity to work on Saturdays and holidays.

**Role and Responsibilities**
- Responsible for inventory quality and turns for products purchased
- Responsible for competitive purchasing
- Responsible for maintaining or exceeding margin standard
- Must manage discrepancies with suppliers when faced with; inspections, adjustments, claims, shortages, received cargo receipts, etc.
- Maintain proper inventory levels
- Follow seasonal products and be aware of all opportunities to introduce new products or promote sales on existing products
- Communicate effectively with sales staff on market information to determine effective marketing strategies
- Communicate effectively with Purchasing Manager and manage fluctuations that differ from current landed costs
- Participate and offer opportunities for independent chain store ads, volume sales strategies, regional group ads as well as in-house ads
- Analyze quality reports and take corrective actions
- Develop transportation relationships
- Negotiate and bargain transportation prices

**Qualifications and Education Requirements**
- A bachelor's degree is business, supply chain management, or a related field
- 1-2 years of experience in importing, as well as an understanding of international trade and import regulations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience in vendor sourcing practices (researching, evaluating, and liaising with vendors)
- Strong computer competency with the ability to quickly learn new software programs
- Strong understanding of supply chain management
- Ability to manage high workload in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
- Strong analytical and forecasting skills
- The ability to speak Cantonese and Mandarin is an asset
