Field Calibration Technician

**Summary-** **To provide onsite calibration of test equipment for customers within the specified location up to and including an 8-hour radius. Also, will have the opportunity to support the local Transcat laboratory when not traveling.

Qualifications:
**Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**
- Calibration experience and/or equivalent training with commercial and/or biomedical measurement and test equipment (M&TE)
- Self-motivator requiring little or no supervision
- Customer service oriented
- Ability to interact with customers & coworkers in a professional manner
- Proficiency with MS Office and the internet; familiarity with basic database functionality

**Education and Experience**
- Associate degree from college or technical school; or 2-5 years of related field experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

**Desired Experience/ Skills**
- Military PMEL training
- Strong attention to detail - able to follow written instructions.
- Ability to plan and prioritize diversified workload and work independently with mínimal supervision
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers, to handle tools and equipment. The employee is occasionally required to walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- Required to stand for long periods of time (up to 8 hours per day)
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and maneuver a 400-pound cart from unloading area to customer designated service area
- Occasionally will be required to lift upwards of 75lbs

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
