**About the Role**:
As a QA/QC Technician in our chocolate manufacturing plant, you play a critical role in ensuring our products meet the highest standards. This job involves checking that our manufacturing processes comply with all quality and safety standards set by the company and regulators.
**Responsibilities**:
**Quality Inspection and Compliance**:
Conduct detailed inspections of production lines to ensure compliance with our quality standards and identify areas for improvement.
Evaluate processes for alignment with the latest industry regulations and customer quality expectations.
**Documentation and Record Keeping**:
Maintain precise records of quality checks, including digital logs, to track and report any deviations from standard procedures.
Update and review check forms and quality documents to ensure current standards are accurately reflected.
**Sampling and Testing**:
Collect and prepare samples/swabs of raw materials and finished products for microbiological and environmental testing.
Analyze retention samples to ensure long-term quality and safety of products.
**Equipment and Environmental Inspection**:
Verify the cleanliness and proper operation of equipment with daily inspections and pre-operation checks.
Assess the sanitation of both the production equipment and the surrounding environment to prevent contamination.
**Safety and Hygiene Enforcement**:
Monitor and enforce personal hygiene and safety practices among team members to meet GMP standards.
Oversee the condition and organization of storage areas to ensure cleanliness and proper labeling, especially concerning allergen management.
**Quality Control Systems Management**:
Develop and refine sensory analysis skills for assessing raw ingredients and finished products.
Implement necessary corrective actions when quality standards are not met, ensuring continuous improvement.
**Training and Development**:
Lead training sessions for employees on GMP, allergen management, and other relevant topics.
Mentor team members to enhance their understanding and execution of quality control practices.
**Auditing and Reporting**:
Conduct monthly quality audits in collaboration with team members, reporting findings to relevant stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with incoming material specifications and finished product standards.
**Collaboration and Support**:
Assist the Food Safety QA/QC Manager with various tasks to uphold and advance quality standards.
Work closely with the production team to ensure high-quality output and address any quality-related issues promptly.
**ERP integrity support**:
Ensure the entry of the good information by verifying the lot of the ingredients used and return to warehouse as well as the amount
Validate the amount of finish product produce, their lot and their format
Random spot check on the First IN/OUT process
**Skills Required**:
- Commitment to quality and food safety.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure.
- Openness to learning and adapting to new challenges.
- Strong communication skills for effective teamwork and reporting.
- Problem-solving abilities and an organized approach to tasks.
- Strong knowledge of GMPs and HACCP guidelines.
**Qualifications**:
- A diploma or degree in Food Science or a related field.
- At least 2+ years of relevant experience in food or beverage manufacturing in Canada.
- Demonstrated intermediate to advanced knowledge of GMP and HACCP.
- Proven experience in a QA/QC capacity within a manufacturing environment is preferable.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to excellence in quality control.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic and fast-paced setting.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
