**Overview**

The Lead Trainer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering Pacific Ropes’ full suite of work-at-height training programs. This includes IRATA and SPRAT rope access certification courses, as well as other work-at-height programs such as fall protection, tower climbing, confined space entry, PPE, and rescue. The Lead Trainer ensures consistent, high-quality training that prioritizes safety, compliance, and student success, while mentoring the training team and supporting curriculum development.

**Job Duties**

Training and Development
- Conduct and oversee training courses across all work-at-height programs, including IRATA, SPRAT, fall protection, tower climbing, confined space, and rescue.
- Act as a motivator and mentor for students, fostering confidence, professionalism, and commitment to safety.
- Take time to understand individual student needs, adapting instruction and providing personalized feedback to support success.
- Provide constructive feedback, mentorship, and evaluation to students, ensuring high levels of engagement and success.
- Supervise and mentor Assistant Trainers, fostering professional growth and instructional consistency.

Curriculum & Program Development
- Create, revise, and implement course materials, lesson plans, training guides, and assessment tools for work-at-height programs, incorporating feedback and best practices, and submitting updates for Coordinator review and approval.
- Ensure training content aligns with industry regulations (IRATA, SPRAT, WorkSafeBC, OHS, and CSA standards).
- Evaluate and adapt training delivery based on student outcomes, feedback, and evolving industry requirements.
- Collaborate with the Training Coordinator and Administration to maintain compliance with IRATA and SPRAT training standards and certification processes.

Leadership & Coordination
- Ensure training facilities, classrooms, and equipment are prepared, safe, and maintained.
- Coordinate with Pacific Ropes Administration to ensure proper student documentation, registration, and reporting.
- Mentorship of Assistant Trainers and new instructors, including structured feedback and development plans. Support the mentorship process by observing assistants in practice, providing constructive feedback, and guiding them in their professional development. Submit observations and feedback to the Training Coordinator for tracking and follow-up.
- Represent Pacific Ropes professionally to students, clients, and industry partners.

Compliance & Industry Engagement
- Stay up to date with industry research, IRATA and SPRAT standards, and national/provincial regulations governing work-at-height safety.
- Follow Pacific Ropes’ policies, procedures, and Instructor’s Manual at all times.
- Ensure training delivery and staff conduct comply with company values, operational standards, and safety requirements.
- Communicate any gaps, risks, or recommended changes to policies and procedures to the Training Director.

Other Duties
- Help maintain cleanliness and organization of training facilities and equipment.
- Participate in marketing, student engagement, and client-specific training initiatives when required.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**
- IRATA and SPRAT Level 3 Certification (IRATA Level 3I accreditation preferred).
- First Aid certification.
- Extensive industry experience (5+ years) in rope access and other work-at-height practices.
- Proven success in training delivery, with strong student certification achievement rates.
- Excellent leadership and mentoring skills; ability to motivate and guide instructors and students.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; committed to excellent customer service.
- Highly organized, adaptable, and detail-oriented, with ability to manage complex schedules.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with LMS or CRM systems is an asset.
- Commitment to safety, innovation, and continuous improvement in training.
