Summary:
Do you have a can-do attitude and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment? Do you have inventory AND forklift experience? In this role, you will be operating forklift, dollies, and hand trucks and be responsible for shipping and receiving duties. We are looking to hire a shipper/receiver with at least 5 years of experience to join our team.
It is a full-time opportunity (40 hours per week) with days Monday to Friday from 7:00am - 3:30pm.
Reporting to the Shop Supervisor, the shipper/receiver will be responsible for verifying, packaging, and shipping orders to customers. Forklift experience is required.
What we offer: from $22 per hour full time permanent employment.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Lead the daily activities of the shipping associates
- Verifying parts orders to ensure they are correct before shipment
- Verifying shipments received against shipping documents
- Work with, and book carriers to get loads delivered
- Process shipping shortages and damage claims working with Purchasing and Quality Assurance to resolve issues.
- Work closely with Production and Purchasing to meet shipping deadlines.
- Complete cycle count requests and investigate variances.
- Sort and distribute incoming shipments
- Lead and work with the shipping yard making sure parts are organized and accessible
- Prepare and inspect all loads to customer specifications for outbound freight
- Attach identifying information and shipping instructions on shipments
- Problem solves for any cases of missing documents, shipments, and deliveries
- Maintain organized work area according to policies, procedures, and safety regulations
- Manage the pickup and delivery of local parts
- Be supportive, coach and assist all employees in the office and shipping personal.
- Promote employee safety
- Promote employee growth by cross training areas within the department.
- Snow removal after a snowfall or when needed, from the driveway, parking lot, sidewalk, and around the building.
- Other duties as assigned.
**SKILLS**
- 5+ years previous experience in shipping and receiving in a fast-paced warehouse environment
- Ability to read and recognize parts numbers quickly and accurately
- Computer literacy is a must
- Excel in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
- Strong attention to detail
- Dependable and reliable
- Forklift certificate required
- Skid-steer experience is an asset
- Able to perform physical labor jobs, including standing/walking, crouching, and bending for extended periods, performing repetitive tasks
- Handling of normal stock will include lifting or carrying parts more than 60 lbs. Majority of lifting and carrying will involve parts between 5 and 60 lbs.
- Comfortable working outdoors for most of the workday (90 percent) in a range of weather conditions when receiving, moving, or loading items.
- Must have full valid driver’s license.
