**Job Summary**
In this role you will be a part of the global People team at Emplifi, and coordinate and execute key HR functional processes for the team Canada, reporting directly to the People and Diversity Lead, Americas. This individual must be bilingual in French & English (fluent in both oral and written).
- Please note that this role will require occasional attendance at our Toronto Office. This position can also be based remotely in Montreal._
**What You’ll Do Here**
**Key Responsibilities**
- Policy Implementation, Guidance and Interpretation
- Own and explain HR policies, procedures, laws, and standards to new employees, including job duties, responsibilities, benefits, schedules, working conditions, promotion opportunities, etc.
- Ensure any risk is mitigated and strive for complete compliance
- Responsible for the whole employee life-cycle
**Onboarding**
- Serve as first point of contact for all Canadian new hires
- Prepare onboarding documents and updating new hire data in all relevant HR systems
- Organize and lead HR onboarding sessions
- Cooperate with IT, Office Management, Hiring Managers and Global Enablement team to ensure a smooth onboarding process
**Employment data and reporting**
- Prepare employment contracts, letters, and amendments
- Maintain up-to-date records related to hiring, transfers, promotions and terminations
- Absence management - Ensure employee compliance with the company holiday and absence policy, in additional to any statutory requirements
- HR reports - Prepare headcount, attrition, holiday balance and other types of reporting as needed
- Employee handbooks and company policies - Keep the guidelines and directives updated, stored and communicated accordingly
- Ensure data accuracy and perform regular data audits
- Support the global HR team with various HR projects, integration initiatives, implementations, etc.
- Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and work with other functions to design and implement enhancements
**Payroll processing**
- Provide all Canadian HR data to the Payroll Manager for bi-weekly payroll processes
- Coordinate the process with internal payroll, the internal finance team, and external payroll provider: providing data inputs, reviewing and filing payroll reports and answering employee inquiries as needed
**Offboarding**
- Prepare exit documentation and communicating leaving details to the leaver
- Guide managers and employees through the offboarding process
- Process terminations in all relevant HR and payroll systems
- Conduct exit interviews with the exiting employees
**Benefits**
- Manage benefits for the employees - benefits process administration, answering employees’ queries related to benefits, enrolling people to various benefits schemes, keeping the records up to date
- Coordinate benefits renewals and plan evaluations
**Employee & Manager relations**
- Provide support to the team for employee relations inquiries
- Support and coach local management in Canada with guidance regarding employment related matters
- Correspond with Legal to ensure legal compliance.
**Culture**
- You´ll play a key role in embracing the Emplifi culture in Canada and work closely with internal Culture Club to drive employee´ initiatives and address key improvement areas
**What You’ll Bring to Us**
- 3 to 5 years of experience within an HR Generalist, HR Operations or People Operations roles (i.e. non-recruitment roles) in Canada
- Must be bilingual in French & English (fluent in both oral and written)
- Previous experience with complex HR information systems and reporting tools (mainly Excel)
- Good understanding of HR policies and procedures
- Knowledge of Canadian Labor Law (including within Quebec); working knowledge of differing laws, practices and regulations from Province to Province.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate to people at all levels internally and externally
- Ability to build, engage and maintain strong relationships
- Good organizational, prioritization and planning skills
- A self-starter with a can-do attitude - proactive, collaborative, and approachable, with a growth & self-development mindset
- Ability to work in fast pace growing environment
- Adaptability to changes and ability to prioritize tasks and projects
