Salary Range $17.50 - $19.25 per hour **PLUS $3.00 extra per hour PANDEMIC WAGE ENHANCEMENT**

We are looking for a **Personal Support Worker** to join our Adult Day and Caregiver Support team This is a Full Time position working Overnights at JIM Suites - Patty's Place. The Individual will be required to work six, 12-hour overnight shifts bi-weekly + one overnight 8-hour shift on rotating weekends including Stat Holiday rotations. This position will require 2 weeks of full-time daytime orientation at Patty’s Place.

**PRIMARY FUNCTIONS**:

- Provides homemaking and personal support services to individuals in shared care facility..
- Provides personal care and activities of daily living to clients
- Performs delegated tasks as directed and trained by a Care Manager, Health Services
- Assists with meal preparation and feeding as required.
- Assists/engages in therapeutic recreation and activities as appropriate during the client’s stay in the overnight service area
- Communicates changes in client condition or other complex situations to the Respite Coordinator
- Documents information pertinent to the client’s stay in overnight respite service.
- Effectively utilizes recognized GPA principles, communication and behaviour management strategies for working with persons with dementia
- Works in a manner that ensures client safety

**POSITION REQUIREMENTS**:

- Personal Support Worker Certificate
- Registered on the Ontario PSW Registry
- Medication Administration course (will be provided)
- Food Handling Certification (will be provided)
- Certification in Gentle Persuasive Approaches in Dementia Care (will be provided)
- Valid Ontario driver’s license, use of vehicle and insurance per the company policy.
- Certification in Basic First aid including certification in CPR-Basic Rescuer.
- 1 to 2 years of experience working in gerontology and working with cognitively impaired persons
- Understanding and knowledge of dementia and age-related experiences.
