We are currently searching for a** Dietary Aide **to join our team. This is a full-time, days shift position at our Schonsee location.

**Position Summary**:
The Dietary Aide is responsible for the preparation of high-quality food in a timely, efficient, sanitary, and consistent manner. The Dietary Aide must be prepared to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure work environment, while maintaining the organizational ability to identify and act on job duties quickly and effectively. Dietary Aides must be prepared to work as a team member in a dynamic workplace, follow all safety procedures, and have a high threshold for heat in a kitchen environment.

**What You Bring to the Role**:

- Formal training in a culinary program considered an asset.
- Two (2) years’ experience working in a commercial kitchen required.
- Strong written and verbal English skills to effectively communicate with all residents, visitors and at all levels within the organization required.
- Experience cooking for seniors an asset.
- Knowledge of safety, sanitation, WHMIS, Food Safety
- Basic food safety is required.
- Possess proper knife skills.
- Familiar with use of kitchen equipment and hand tools.
- Ability to follow recipes.
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
- Ability to work in an infectious disease outbreak environment and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required.
- Clear criminal record check completed a maximum of three (3) months prior to the ‘date of hire’ required.

**Your Responsibilities**:

- Prepare all food (hot and cold) as directed in a sanitary and timely manner.
- Retrieve food from off-site kitchen and prepare plates for residents.
- Prepare dishes for residents with food allergies or intolerances and adhere to all dietary requirements of the residents.
- Follow portion controls and presentation specifications as set by the Head Chef.
- Restocks all items as needed throughout shift.
- Ensure beverages and condiments are restocked and prepared for all meals.
- Bring unused, leftover food back to the main off-site kitchen.
- Wash all dishes between meal periods and adhere to proper sanitization protocols.
- Clean and maintain stations while practicing food safety, sanitation, organizational skills.
- Assist with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of kitchen, walk-in coolers, and all storage areas.
