The laboratory technician is responsible for supporting the technologists in the Point of Care Team by performing non-technical and technical duties.

**Responsibilities**:

- Inventory management.
- Communicating and troubleshooting with guidance from the technologists.
- Provides training and guidance of new and current staff, students and healthcare professionals.
- Maintenance and cleaning of equipment and support equipment
- Support overall quality monitoring through the Quality Management System.
- Assist with validations.

**Qualifications**:

- Successfully completed an accredited Laboratory or Medical Assistant course or equivalent.
- MLPAO (Medical Laboratory Professionals’ Association of Ontario) or CSMLS (Canadian Society of Medical Laboratory Science) certification strongly preferred.
- All shift availability 24 hours/7 days is required (Days, Evenings, Nights, Weekends and Holidays)
- Ability to travel and work at all sites.
- Proficient in MS Office (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams)
- Satisfactory attendance and performance required.
- Presentation skills a strong asset
