The St. Joseph’s Health Centre site of Unity Health Toronto is opening up a state of the art Palliative Care Unit. This 10 bed unit will support patients with a palliative care diagnosis who require pain and symptom management and end of life care in a tranquil environment. This position offers a unique opportunity to be a part of this units foundational care team.

Qualifications:

- Secondary school diploma required.
- Recent experience as a Unit Clerk or other clerical experience.
- Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Knowledge of medical terminology required with a Certificate in Medical Terminology preferred.
- Working knowledge of Meditech, MediPay, and Teletracking preferred.
- Basic mathematical/numerical skills and experience ordering supplies.
- Polite & efficient telephone manner.
- Proven ability to work independently and show initiative.
- Able to work well under pressure & co-operate with all Health Centre staff and patients.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
- Ability to work in an environment with death and dying issues.
- Satisfactory attendance record.
