Parksville, Canada Ready Propane Full time

Reporting directly to the company owners, Propane Technicians are primarily responsible for the safe and timely delivery of liquid propane to various customer locations. As part of a small and tight-nit team, it is expected Propane Technicians will also assist with new customer tank installations, equipment swaps, service calls, and miscellaneous yard work.

This is a full-time, hourly position per BC Employment Standards. Base pay is based on a 40-hour work week, 8am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday. Starting wages are dependent upon prior experience $21.00 - $25.00 per hour. Once fully trained, Propane Technicians can also receive a peak-season delivery incentive (October thru March). To keep up with demand, occasional weekend or overtime work may be required during peak season.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

- Deliver, load, and unload liquid propane into the bulk truck and end use containers of varying sizes while providing exceptional customer service.
- Complete TDG documentation, pre-trip inspections, and incident reports.
- Document customer levels and deliveries and maintain asset records.
- Collect cheques or cash payments from customers when required.
- Complete pre-trip inspections, periodic maintenance, painting, and key system tests as required.
- Complete new tank deliveries and swap outs.
- Complete cylinder re-qualifications, general yard maintenance, and other related yard work.
- Maintain positive, effective, and professional written and oral communication with customers, co-workers, and management.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

- Minimum High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Minimum Class 5 license (Requires clean ICBC driver abstract (N)).
- Physically fit with the ability to pull a liquid filled hose repeatedly as well as lift and pull 100 lbs+.
- Have a strong work ethic and a desire to provide outstanding customer service.
- Ability to work safely and independently, critically think, and problem solve with mínimal supervision.
- Must be organized and able to maintain concise and accurate records.
- Must be punctual and prepared to come to work each day mentally and physically fit.
- Able to recognize vehicle needs, and to perform basic vehicle repairs and or maintenance.

All vehicles, yards, and premises are **non-smoking**. This is non-negotiable.

Prior experience with any of the following are considered an asset:

- Product delivery.
- Air Brake Endorsement.
- Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG).
- Work in a customer service role.
- Using a picker truck or forklift.
- Mechanical or maintenance experience.
