Leigh Industries is located in Port Coquitlam and has been designing and manufacturing tools for the woodworking industry for almost 40 years. Our products are highly sought after and are sold through specialty retail outlets in Canada and the USA and also through a network of international dealers in Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia and Russia.

We are currently looking for a conscientious and self-motivated person to work in our manufacturing assembly shop. The work environment is clean, inclusive and cooperative. Work is performed indoors and is warm, bright and dry in the cold of winter and cool and shady in the summer.

WAGES NEGOTIABLE DEPENDENT ON EXPERIENCE
- Use provided safety equipment and practice safe work practices
- Read and understand Assembly Manuals written in the English Language
- Assemble components per instructions provided
- Assemble parts using manual and pneumatic hand tools
- Occasional heavy lifting (up to 50lbs)
- Rotate through multiple stations and tasks during a shift
- Cut Steel bars and Aluminum Extrusion to tight tolerances
- Quality Control of parts and assemblies
- Packaging products for shipping
- Communicate any issues with products or equipment promptly to supervisors
- keep work areas clean and tidy
- Be able to communicate in, and understand, both verbal and written English
- Basic math skills
- Ability to measure and understand measurements (Imperial and metric)
- Follow direction and instruction from supervisory staff
- Able to work on their feet for 8 hour shifts
- Have excellent housekeeping skills.
- Attention to detail and pride in ones work
- Good organizational skills
- The following attributes and job skills are not required but are an asset for consideration for the position;_
- Current valid Forklift Operators license
- Current Industrial First Aid Level 1 certificate
- Experience in shipping and receiving
- Lean Manufacturing Experience
- Use of Steel and Aluminum cut off saws
- WHMIS Education
- BEST ATTRIBUTE IS A GREAT ATTITUDE

Hours of work and compensation;
- Monday through Friday. 7:30am thru 4:30pm
- Two 15 minute coffee breaks and 1 half hour lunch break per shift
- STARTING WAGE $19.00/HR RISING TO $20.00/HR AFTER 3 MONTHS PROBATIONARY PERIOD.(500 Hours)
- Incentive Bonus of $1.00 per hour paid out once 500 hours of probationary period is completed.
- Further wage increases are dependent on performance reviews.
