**Duties**:
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Oversees and supervises the work of a team up to 5 workers responsible for cleaning, sanitation and basic maintenance of park facilities;
- Assigns and allocates tasks; ensures staff/work crews understand and accomplish assigned tasks; ensures the progress of work; motivates staff/work crews to meet established quality and quantity standards;
- Ensures workplace compliance to occupational health and safety requirements.
- Organize, conduct, and document code compliance inspections;
- Monitor, inspect, and test assets (e.g. equipment, machinery, systems, facilities, structures);
- Perform basic checks and tests; take readings; identify anomalies and deviations (e.g. from established settings, compliance standards, performance levels);
- Prepare reports with assessments on required repair, maintenance, installation and construction.

EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in building construction/maintenance (e.g new construction, renovations, repairs).
- Experience in the use, operation and maintenance of a range of manual tools, power tools and equipment.
- Experience in common code compliance and preventative maintenance practices.
- Experience in coordinating and conducting preventative maintenance measures and programs.

The following qualifications may be applied and/or assessed because they are beneficial in carrying out the duties of the position. They may be used in screening, assessment or determining right fit for this selection process, so please describe how you meet any of the following criteria:
- Possession of a valid Journeyman Certification (Provincial or Interprovincial).
- Experience using a computer including use of Microsoft Office Suite programs.
- Experience creating work plans, cost estimates and specifications for contemporary and historic buildings, roads and trails or for maintenance and repair.
- Experience working with the safety practices associated with the maintenance and asset function.
- Experience in grounds maintenance.
- Experience servicing vehicles and equipment.
**Conditions of employment**:
- Security Screening: Obtain and maintain Reliability Status Clearance.
- Obtain and maintain valid class 5 license.
OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Willingness to wear a Parks Canada uniform and prescribed protective equipment.
- Willingness to work and/or travel in varied terrain, weather conditions, isolated locations, and by various means of transportation.
- Willingness to work irregular hours, overtime, weekends and/or statutory holidays and provincial/territorial holidays, when required.
- May be required to undergo and meet the requirements for a medical examination/pre-employment medical examination and/or periodic medical check.
