This is a full-time position reporting to the Director of Process Development and is based in Montreal, QC, Canada.

**Functions and responsibilities**:

- Perform mammalian cell culture activities such as cell maintenance, transfection for stable protein expression and isolation of cellular pools using the CHO cell line.
- From time to time perform platform-based small scale protein purification.
- Analyse results obtained from the Analytical group on routine analyses.
- Responsible for the analysis and documentation of obtained experimental data (electronic laboratory notebook and files).
- Prepare protocols and reports on experiments performed.
- Responsible for the maintenance of laboratory equipment.
- Provide technical and scientific support during the development process.
- Participate in technology transfer activities.
- Use a quality-by-design (QbD) approach during all process development phases.

**Qualifications**:

- At least a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in biochemistry, biotechnology, or equivalent.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in stable protein expression, upstream process development and/or manufacture of recombinant proteins or relevant experience in biotechnology or biopharmaceutical industry.
- Experience in mammalian cell culture and recombinant protein expression systems.
- Meticulous laboratory practice with good aseptic technique.
- Experience at analyzing and presenting experimental cell culture results
- Knowledge of downstream process technologies and protein purification is an asset.
- Ability to conduct experiments independently.
- Ability to work in multifunctional teams and in a dynamic environment.
- Experience in problem solving.
- Effective communicator in writing and speaking.
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) is an asset.
