**_What Your Performance Expectations include as a Tax Manager_**
- Working on engagements of all sizes.
- Working closely with other team members as a trusted advisor providing tax planning and consulting for clients.
- Organizing teams for the preparation of returns.
- Conducting and presenting tax research.
- Advising on planning opportunities, tax minimization strategies and compliance issues.
- Reviewing the work of junior staff for accuracy and completeness.
- Providing ongoing support and mentoring for the professional development of staff.

**_As a Tax Manager, you will: _**
- Plan and lead engagements including personal and corporate tax compliance, succession planning, estate planning, executive compensation, developing acquisition and divesture strategies, corporate reorganizations, inbound and outbound planning.
- Proactively understand the needs of the client and work with them to develop relevant, effective, and valuable solutions.
- Build relationships at a senior level while being seen as a trusted business advisor.
- Participate in the development and delivery of training programs.
- Actively coach and mentor team members to their highest potential.
- Be exposed to a variety of tax and consulting work with a primary focus on tax planning and transactional work, which requires strong research and writing skills.

**_Qualifications_**
- **Completion of the In-depth Tax Course or the MTAX is a REQUIREMENT**:

- Relevant **five years of work experience** in a mid-size firm or large tax practice
- Experience with owner manager/ private company clients
- **Cross border/ international tax experience and working knowledge**:

- Experienced with estate and trust planning, reviewing personal and private tax returns (using TaxPrep, TaxFind, IntelliConnect or other tax research software)
- Strong commitment to professional and client service excellence
- Proven ability to deliver the full cycle of project management accountabilities
- Experience with project problem diagnosis, solution development, client communications, facilitation of decision making, documentation, managing client expectations, project profitability and team leadership
- Ability to anticipate the long-term impact of all the decisions and take a broad approach to problem solving
