**Security Systems Technician**

**The position**:
Provide technical and networking support to ROEL Security customers across the GTA, by troubleshooting, repairing existing hardware/software; as well as by installing new security systems’ equipment in a courteous and professional manner.

**Responsibilities**:

- Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, install, maintain, and inspect security systems.
- Installation includes: prewiring of low voltage cabling, programming, and troubleshooting security cameras, card access systems, door operators, and alarm systems.
- Install analog and IP cameras.
- Mount and terminate alarm panels.
- Mount network racks and wall enclosures.
- Install and terminate door strikes and card readers.
- Mount and dismount automatic door operators.
- Travel to customers locations as required.
- Complete and submit accurate weekly timesheets.
- Interact with customers and internal employees in a professional manner.
- Maintain and handle with care inventory and other materials.
- Provide customer training.
- Work independently and coordinate with other tech resources and support teams as needed.
- Ability to execute projects in a timely manner (as scheduled - on staggered shifts), and operate within deadlines).
- Communicate with Tech Support when escalating an issue.

**What we look for**

**Education**:

- High school diploma

**Experience**:

- Preferred minimum of 3-5 years of electronic repair and networking experience.
- Experience setting up and troubleshooting devices in network environments.
- Experience with low voltage systems, access control, CCTV and alarm systems.
- System cabling.
- Electronics knowledge.
- Use of digital voltmeter.
- Understanding wiring diagrams (component level experience not expected).
- Ability to configure and edit network setting on various hardware environments.

**Skills**:

- Must be technically inclined, able to understand inner workings of equipment.
- Must be computer literate, have networking ability and a good knowledge of operating systems.
- Must be self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Mechanical aptitude, able to use hand/power tools, and ladders safely
- Not afraid of heights.
- Fluent English language written and verbal skills, demonstrated people and telephone skills, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work well under pressure.
- Ability to meet deadlines and to adjust/adapt to new ideas and procedures is necessary.

**Other**:

- Valid driver’s G license
- If you own tools is an asset
- If you own a vehicle is an asset
- Permanent resident or Canadian Citizen required
- Uniform will be provided
