This includes the preparation, processing and reporting of employee and pensioner personal data, the investigation and correction of payroll errors. Process payroll activities in accordance with payroll processing procedures, collective agreements, HR policies, and internal controls to ensure accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality of data. Perform various other clerical duties as assigned by Supervisor. **General Accountabilities**: Payroll Processing and Reporting: - Prepare and process day-to-day payroll clerical activities including but not limited to processing employee data, creating myHR cases and tasks, stop payment processing.) - Prepare wires or cheque requisitions for Off-Cycle payments - Complete Record of Employment Processing - Assemble and summarize various employee or payroll data for report preparation. - Run and distribute various reports and logs including but not limited to myHR, SAP, audit and overpayment reports. - Overpayment activities including retrieving, saving and sending overpayment letters. Payroll Inquiry / Requests: - Provide Employee Data and Payroll information via myHR cases per required SLAs. - Action requests to provide pay information and documents including pay statements, T4 slips Payments, Remittances, Communication, and Reporting - Receive, distribute cheques and send mails. Audit & Compliance: - Perform peer reviews on data entry activities to ensure accuracy of data entry to avoid any negative impacts on HR processes reliant on accurate data. Provide all required information, forms, supporting documentation and approvals. - Perform and participate in audits related to ensuring data entry activities are in accordance with defined HR controls. - Support HR teams to troubleshoot and resolve any anomalies identified through auditing activities. System & Process Enhancements - Perform testing activities related to HR process and/or system changes as they relate to the processes under accountabilities of Payroll. Administrative Support: - Perform various clerical services as requested by Team Leads, Supervisor and/or Manager. - Perform other duties as required. **Selection Criteria**: **Education**: - Requires knowledge of basic bookkeeping, business practice, arithmetic, sentence structure, composition and grammar to check account distribution, to understand payroll procedures, data processing procedures to clear errors, and the operate computer systems. - Also requires knowledge of typing to produce correspondence, copy work, various forms and reports and operate data processing equipment. This knowledge is considered to be normally acquired either through the successful completion of Grade XI in a Secondary, Commercial or Technical School or by having the equivalent level of education. **Experience**: - Requires experience to become familiar with SPA system, with district payroll categories, and the data processing procedures pertaining to inputting, corrections, and the like. Requires experience to be familiar with clerical and administrative processes. - Requires experience to become familiar with procedures pertinent to the preparation, processing and maintenance of various forms, employee data, equipment usage data, etc. A period of up to three years is considered necessary to gain this experience.
