**Some of what you will do**

As the Design Manager of the Design System, you will be responsible for managing our design system library, collaborating with the digital product and engineering teams, and providing design leadership to drive the creation of best-in-class components, align UX to business outcomes, and increase product development velocity through a robust design system. You will be a player-coach and lead a team of design system designers and accessibility specialists, enabling them to contribute to their fullest potential.

**Specifically, you will**:

- Be a leader of the design system to elevate the strategies and operation process. Work with product managers, designers, and front-end developers to define the scope of executing visually consistent and aesthetically reusable components.
- Lead efforts to explore, propose, and document design system improvements, ensuring all components, variants, and variables have code counterparts.
- Define Design System KPIs to measure health and drive continuous improvement by evaluating and optimizing the user experience based on data, user feedback, and industry trends.
- Thoroughly exploring, refining, and documenting the design solutions. Navigate ambiguity by maintaining clear sources of truth documentation for the organization.
- Conduct user research, usability testing, and competitive analysis to gather insights and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Proactively identify opportunities to review code and design decisions to enforce design system usage while socializing upcoming changes to integrate the design system more deeply in all areas of product development.
- Champion design best practices across teams, raising the visibility of work and ensuring partnership with business partners.

Some of what you need
- Requires a college or university degree in UX Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field
- A hands-on designer who is proficient in design systems design and working with development (React or equivalent)
- An expert in Figma, knowledge of component theming, Zeroheight and Contentful are assets
- A portfolio that demonstrates designing and building high-quality design systems components for both Consumer and B2B products
- Experience building and maintaining design tokens & documentation: UI design, light mode/dark mode, naming/categorization, management, conversion, version control, and distribution
- Experience collaborating with other product designers, product managers, engineers, and other business partners to align roadmaps and implementation details
- Data-driven and use quantitative as well as qualitative data sources to inform your design decisions
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and persuasion skills
- Usually, they have 8+ years of relevant work experience, at least 3 of them as a design manager, and at least 3 of them focused on design systems.
