**Your contribution**
Innergex is currently looking for a Junior Coordinator for a twelve (12) month term position with the possibly of extension. Reporting to the Senior Director - Environment, the Junior Coordinator will support a team of nine (9) professionals for Innergex’s operating hydro, wind and solar facilities in Canada and the United States.
**Your day-to-day**
Support the management of ongoing environmental monitoring programs for operating hydroelectric, solar and wind projects, ensuring the scope of work, schedule and budgets remain on track, and timely submission of reports to regulatory agencies and Indigenous partners.
Oversee the functionality of B.C. fish enhancement habitat sites by coordinating and liaising with applicable consultants and organizations for routine check-up/maintenance.
- Assist with the development of internal environmental policies and procedures, project summaries, and operational staff training materials;
- Assist in presenting training modules to operations staff on site and/or virtually;
- Assist the environment and operations teams in B.C. regarding environmentally sensitive works as required;
- Assist in the preparation and filing of permits and approvals to support development and operational projects;
- Coordinate and follow-up on environmental permitting and approvals associated with operating renewable energy projects in Canada and USA, including preparation of compliance documents to be submitted to regulatory agencies;
- Assist the environment team in implementing our systematic method for tracking permits, authorizations and other commitments of our projects via “INNSite” and “INNVision” (Salesforce platform);
- Collaborate with our in-house GIS/spatial department and external consultants (ArcGIS and Land Planner) in developing and maintaining our environmental and permitting GIS data sets to aid in developing permitting risk assessments for projects under development and ensuring our projects in operations remain in compliance with permits and approvals;
- Liaise with partners, stakeholders, regulatory agencies, and members of the public, as required;
- Research topics and develop solutions to ongoing environmental project tasks;
- Other tasks to support sound environmental management of Innergex’s assessment and development of renewable energy projects as required;
- Identifies stakeholders’ needs by asking probing questions and understanding requirements;
- Gains stakeholder trust by effectively addressing their concerns to further long-term interests;
- Helps stakeholders explore their wider business challenges to suggest solutions and improvements;
- Shares best practice knowledge with others and identifies how they could be used to enhance own work;
- Leverages multiple sources of data and develops basic recommendations;
- Develops functional knowledge of programs and tools and understanding of stakeholders’ needs.
**Your skills, our requirements**
- Undergraduate degree in environmental studies, science or related natural resource management program (experience with field work valuable);
- One (1) year of experience, preferably in environmental consulting, government, or industry;
- Experience in the renewable energy sector (hydro, solar, wind, energy storage) is an asset;
- Proficiency in English (written and spoken);
- Available to travel throughout Western Canada and work away from home for short periods of time (1-3 days) to conduct field visits/agency meetings and operator training sessions, as required;
- Strong sense of ownership for individual tasks and overall team objectives;
- Strong organizational skills and ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and a context of changing priorities;
- Ability to work independently and advance specific tasks and projects to conclusion without extensive oversight;
- Detail orientated and thinks critically about tasks and process;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and spoken);
- Proven ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams and interact with diverse stakeholders;
