SUMMARY To create and maintain "Master Production Schedule" from firm and forecast marketing orders that is realistic to ensure a stable manufacturing environment which meets customer delivery commitments. This role will identify problem areas and work closely with the operations and production staff/supervisors in meeting overall production goals. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Assure that the production schedules are met as determined by the master schedule. - Oversees plant production by observing activity and setting standards to ensure production and quality needs are met. - Attends meetings and discussions pertaining to continuous improvement management system (CIMS) in responsible areas. - Directs Production Supervisors and Team Reps to foster the employee involvement process. - Assure that all units manufactured meet or exceed quality standards. - Assist in the development and coordination of new methods and procedures to reduce manufacturing costs. - Perform inventories and contact with suppliers to obtain product when required - Works with all areas/departments to continue to nurture one-piece flow. - Assists in weekly scheduling for each department and the plant as a whole. - Uses plasma cutting software (ProNest) to program Messer CNC plasma cutting table to generate various steel and/or aluminum components used in the manufacture of various assemblies used in the production of concrete transit mixers - Other duties as responsibly assigned. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor's degree and 7 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience required. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Knowledge of Microsoft Excel - Knowledge of JD Edwards - Prior experience working in a manufacturing environment
