**Job Scope**:
An apprentice trains under the guidance of a skilled tool and die maker. The majority of the training is on-the-job, hands on, in the shop. As well, the apprentice must attend a certain amount of in class training. Apprentices will work with precision machines, and equipment to make tools and dies. Training will involve designing, making, modifying, and repairing dies, forms, cutting tools, gauges, jigs and fixtures for the stamping industry.

**Responsibilities and Duties**

Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Read and use blueprint designs to make a tool or die
- Use saws, lathes, milling machines, shapers, and grinders to cut, shape and assemble metal to meet the exact specifications outlined by the design
- Maintain and clean machines used
- Follow Company policies and procedures
- Learn and follow company Health and Safety procedures
- Perform other duties as required

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum grade 12 education or ministry-approved equivalent
- Must be able to visualize and interpret multi-dimensional concepts
- Must have above average mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity
- Must read blueprints
- Need strong analytical and organizational skills
- Must have strong computer skills
- Knowledge of the quality system TS16949 an asset

(40 hours) Overtime after 40 hours

Shifts: Day shift

Afternoons (7.5% shift bonus)

**Salary**: Depending on qualifications
