The Bridges & Highway Structures Branch is looking to hire one (1) Assistant Bridge Maintenance Program Manager for Stony Mountain.
Conditions of Employment:
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Must be capable of performing physical requirements of position, including standing for extended periods of time, lifting up to 25kg, and wearing protective equipment.
- Must be able to work in an outdoor rough terrain environment in both winter and summer in extreme temperatures.
- Work extended hours, travel within the Province of Manitoba and be away from home for extended periods.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Full stage Manitoba Class 5 Drivers Licence.
Qualifications:
**Essential**:
- Civil Engineering Technology Diploma from an approved institute of technology. An equivalent combination of related education, training, or experience related to bridge maintenance may be considered.
- Extensive experience in bridge maintenance activities, procedures, planning, management, and administration of maintenance projects, including specifications, standards, supervisory/lead hand experience, and experience with operating bridge maintenance tools and equipment.
- Experience in identifying and managing risk as it relates to the successful completion in delivering bridge maintenance projects.
- Experience in project management including project budgets, environmental issues, developing maintenance efficiencies, coordinating staff, and site safety.
- Effective verbal communication skills.
- Effective written communication skills.
- Strong problem solving skills including the ability to identify issues that need to be resolved, be able to develop options to resolve/mitigate issues and be able to make recommendations for consideration by appropriate decision makers.
**Duties**:
- The Assistant Bridge Maintenance Program Manager is responsible for paraprofessional work providing technical support and assisting with planning, scheduling, and organizing an effective bridge maintenance program, including being responsible for preservation and maintenance activities, managing and tracking project budgets, dealing with environmental and safety issues, and coordinating staff and resources.
- This position is required to support the Bridge Maintenance Program Manager perform human resource management duties such as planning personnel, scheduling, assigning work, monitoring performance, and providing technical support.
- This position is also required to provide technical expertise to bridge maintenance crews through mentoring, guidance, recommendations, knowledge of bridge maintenance tools and equipment, as well as environmental and safety practices.
