BCIT’s **Financial Services** department is seeking a **regular, full-time (1.0**FTE**) Financial Systems and Reporting Administrator**. This position supports the Manager in planning, developing or evaluating, implementing and maintaining all computerized records systems pertaining to Financial Services Information Systems (FSIS). Represents the team in working committees as well as project teams. Assists Manager in leading projects, developing reports and collaborates with other departments across the Institute on the delivery and implementation of those projects. Supports system maintenance and administration and maintains documentation of business processes and practices.

**Duties & Responsibilities**

**SPECIFIC**ACOUNTABILITIES**:

- Supports the Manager in business process improvements and technological solutions that align with Financial Services strategies and Institute’s current and future business needs. Reviews and assesses FSIS needs in collaboration with the Manager. Translates FSIS needs into business requirements for system development.
- Collaborates with IT Services Functional Analysts to create functional and technical requirements, and assess system and business impacts. Participates in evaluation and recommendation of current or new systems. Provides guidance to Financial Services staff in developing procedures for FSIS and related work processes.
- Supports the Manager in overseeing delivery of training financial services staff and users across the Institute, ensuring clear understanding of system capabilities and all related policies, practices, procedures and standards.
- Performs routine data validation processes to support and ensure the protection of data privacy and compliance with security and access protocols. Provides data quality assurance guidelines to support and resolve data processing issues affecting employee pay and benefits, student tuition, etc. Resolves inaccuracies as needed.
- Creates and analyzes complex data extracts and reports to meet departmental and Institutional needs. Prepares high level reports for external organizations, ministries, and government agencies. Validates reporting requirements including dataset, statistics, and other metrics based on client needs.
- Maintains and updates policies and processes to support administration and data integrity of Financial Services. Reviews, supports, and maintains security and account access for Financial Services. Coordinates and collaborates with departments across the Institute (including, but not limited to IT Services, Human Resources, and Student Services) to support and resolve any system or financial data related issues.
- Prepares reports as they relate to privacy and protection of financial data including vendor, student and employee information and relays information on system security and access as needed. Keeps current on latest trends, research, and developments by participating in working groups.
- Participates on committees, working groups, projects, and initiatives for the department or Institute as assigned by the Manager. Provides high levels of customer service, not only to Financial Services, but also to the BCIT community. Responsible for developing reports to support the Finance and Corp Services groups. Keeps the Manager informed of the more complex, unresolved situations.
- Supervises staff, including recruitment/selection, training, development, coaching, and performance management

**QUALIFICATIONS** &

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Completion of Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in business analysis plus four years related experience of working in a large, complex organization preferably an academic institution with experience supporting financial systems
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Demonstrated experience with report writing, data visualization, and business intelligence tools, including SQL and working knowledge of Oracle, Cognos, Banner and/or Tableau will be an asset.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills with the ability to provide clear and simple explanations of technical systems and procedures to non-technical users and to escalate issues as needed
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and also maintain effective working relationships and exercise tact and diplomacy in dealing with confidential information.
- Strong analytical skills with ability to investigate and maintain data integrity
- Strong project coordination skills with the ability to work to tight deadlines and changing priorities is an asset.
- Knowledge of accounting and payroll processes and systems.
