**Overview**:The Edmonton Elks are looking for a dynamic, creative, and passionate Social Media Coordinator to join our marketing team. In this role, you will be responsible for crafting and sharing the team’s story through compelling and engaging social media content. As the digital voice of the Elks you’ll be connecting with fans, creating excitement, and driving brand awareness across Instagram, Facebook, X, YouTube, TikTok, and LinkedIn. Your creativity and strategic thinking will be key in building a strong, consistent narrative that resonates with both current fans and potential new audiences.
**Key Accountabilities**:
- ** Content Creation & Storytelling**: Develop and curate engaging, high-quality content (photos, videos, graphics, written posts) that authentically and creatively tells the story of the Edmonton Elks Football Club - showcasing players, fans, games, and events. Take the lead in scheduling and posting across all Elks social media channels.
- ** Photography**: Capture high-quality, on-brand photos that align with the Elks' story and resonate with fans. Whether at games, events, or behind-the-scenes moments, your photography will play a key role in bringing our content to life.
- ** Social Media Strategy**: Work closely with the marketing team to develop and implement social media strategies that support the club’s overall marketing, partnerships, community, and revenue objectives.
- ** Community Engagement**: Actively engage with fans and followers on all social media platforms, fostering a positive and vibrant community. Respond to inquiries, encourage fan interaction, and create moments that drive engagement.
- ** Campaign Execution**: Support the planning and execution of social media campaigns, contests, and promotions. Collaborate with multiple stakeholders to ensure campaigns are aligned with the club’s messaging and goals.
- ** Content Calendar Management**: Lead the creation, maintenance, and execution of the content calendar to ensure a consistent flow of posts and updates across platforms.
- ** Performance Tracking & Reporting**: Monitor social media performance, analyze data, and review reports to measure the success of content and campaigns with Director, Brand Marketing. Use insights to refine strategies and optimize engagement.
- ** Trendspotting**: Stay ahead of sports news, content trends, and emerging platforms. Continuously seek opportunities to innovate and enhance the club’s social media presence.
**Skills & Requirements**:
- Strong storytelling skills with the ability to create content that resonates emotionally with fans.
- Proficient in social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, LinkedIn, and YouTube) and their respective management tools.
- Skilled in photography with the ability to capture dynamic, on-brand images that enhance storytelling.
- Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.
- Design experience with Photoshop would be an advantage
- Creative and innovative thinker with an eye for design and visual storytelling.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- A passion for sports and or would be considered an asset
**Education & Training**:
- Educated to degree level (or equivalent) in a marketing-related discipline.
