Outer Construction Inc is one of the leading commercial landscaping company in southwestern Ontario specializing in the installation of hardscaping (retaining walls, paving stones) soft scaping (plantings, sod, hydroseeding), park infrastructure, erosion controls, low impact construction, Soil/Silva cells, fencing and road signage.
Our organization has grown considerably through the strength of its employees and management, attention to detail and of course, quality workmanship. Much of the work Outer undertakes involve complex issues and these challenges are handled proficiently by our project management and on-site staff in order to mitigate any issues that could have an adverse impact on any project. We are currently seeking a highly motivated construction manager
**Typical responsibilities may include but are not limited to**:
- Manage the execution of construction projects, planning labor requirements, equipment requirements and material deliveries and timing to ensure completion of job(s) within project deadlines
- Manage safety, quality and productivity of work at sites and/or shop/yard
- Assist in the preparation of jobsites prior to the beginning of a project
- Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the day to day work activities of a landscape construction crew of 1 to 10 employees
- Operate various tools and equipment, including heavy equipment, chainsaws, jackhammers, laser levels, measurement equipment, shovels, hammers, drills, etc.
- Maintain and enforce standards of cleanliness and organization in assigned trucks, trailers, equipment, jobsites, and shop/yard areas
- Ensure that all work activities are carried out in a safe and efficient manner
- Must be able to work extended hours as required to include evenings and weekends.
- Perform other related duties as required to ensure a safe workplace, quality construction and timely completion of each project.
- Direct, motivate and supervising project team
- Other duties as assigned.
**Supervisory Responsibilities**
- Provide oversight and direction to team members in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures.
- Empower team members to take ownership of their job and goals. Delegate responsibilities as needed and provide routine constructive feedback on performance.
- Create a culture that is consistent with the organization’s focus on team member engagement and that aligns with the organization’s mission, vision, and values.
- Lead team members to meet the organization’s expectations for productivity, quality, and goal accomplishment.
**Requirements**:
- Highschool Diploma or GED equivalent
- Sound technical capabilities, organizational skills, and problem-solving ability.
- 5+ years of proven landscape construction success in complex projects
- In depth understanding of plan reading, interpretation of specifications
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage responsibilities independently, and work in a team environment
Valid drivers’ licence
**Salary**: $80,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
