In your job as Robot Assembler, you will be responsible for assembling and testing robotic lawn mowers and snow plows. Safety is of utmost importance to you because you understand the risks and hazards associated with your extremely important role. As a Robot Assembler, you love to work with your hands and know your way around a shop tool You’re passionate about robotic technology, sustainability, and thrive in environments where your constructive energy can be utilized.
We are looking for someone who is in the Waterloo region and able to work in-office due to the nature of work performed.
**Responsibilities**:
- Assemble large mechanical and hydraulic systems, electronic components, electrical wiring and mechanical drivetrains.
- Perform electrical crimping, wiring, soldering, and PCB assembly.
- Follow assembly and electrical instructions and diagrams.
- Perform mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repairs.
- Maintain an organized, tidy, and safe shop environment.
**Required Skills/Experience**:
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in a related field is considered an asset.
- Ability to read and carefully follow mechanical and electrical engineering drawings and instructions.
- Knowledge of how to safely use common hand and power tools.
- Capable of working with mínimal supervision to meet strict deadlines.
- Experience with electrical wiring, crimping, and soldering.
- Safety-first mindset.
- Comfortable with abrupt changes to project priorities and deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time, and kneel or crouch.
- Must be able to comfortably lift up to 50lbs.
**Nice to Haves**:
- Practical knowledge of Google Suite.
- Previous experience in a start-up manufacturing or small scale production environment.
- Experience assembling or repairing hydraulic systems.
- Experience with automotive service and repairs.
- Avid problem-solving/troubleshooting attitude and abilities.
- Experience building and repairing computers.
- Knowledge of electrical diagnostics and troubleshooting using a DMM.
