Nestled atop the 12th floor, in Calgary’s vibrant west-end, overlooking the majestic Bow River, **Bow & Bend** brings the outdoors in as the Bow’s gentle bends mirror the tranquility of this signature 150-seat rooftop restaurant and bar. At its core are the finest culinarians and mixologists eagerly waiting to fulfill our customers’ dreams of an indulgent and refined dining experience. At **Bow & Bend**, we provide warm and attentive service in a visually stunning environment with an artfully crafted menu, embracing eco-conscious practices, through conscious choices and initiatives.
**ABOUT OUR OPPORTUNITY**
Primary accountabilities include:
- Consistently providing the highest quality of service to our customers and staff alike, setting a shining example for our team.
- Supervising front of house staff including servers, hosts, and bartenders to ensure efficient service.
- Training and mentoring team members in customer service best practices and food safety standards.
- Managing reservations and seating arrangements to optimize customer flow and satisfaction.
- Addressing customer inquiries, concerns, and feedback promptly to enhance the dining experience.
- Collaborating with culinary team to ensure timely food preparation and presentation.
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the dining area, bar, and waiting areas.
- Monitoring inventory levels of supplies and communicating needs to Restaurant General Manager.
- Assisting in the planning and execution of special events or promotions to attract new customers.
- Ensuring the highest level of staff satisfaction through selecting, training, scheduling, coaching, counseling, developing, recognizing and rewarding our staff.
- Maintaining a safe, secure and healthy work environment by establishing, following and enforcing sanitation standards and procedures, complying with health and legal regulations.
- Maintaining professional and technical knowledge by tracking emerging trends in the industry, reviewing professional publications and benchmarking best practices.
**ABOUT YOU**
- A seasoned professional with a minimum of three years’ experience leading a team in an upscale Restaurant operation in a downtown city center.
- Someone with an outstanding work ethic, along with a track record of reliability, punctuality and an approachable demeanor, with a strong commitment to safety.
- Someone who has solid leadership skills, adept at training, coaching and motivating a team of high performers.
- An exceptional problem-solver, knowing how to troubleshoot, resolve situations efficiently, with the ability to shift priorities as needed, including handling customer or staff situations.
- Able to work well under pressure and enjoy a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communicator who values teamwork and collaboration.
- Someone with extensive knowledge in wine, beverages and bartending practices.
- Physically able to stand, sit, walk, push, pull, crouch, and lift or carry objects up to 40 pounds or more.
